Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) announced this week in Singapore actions of Brazil in the agenda of sustainability and technological innovation.
Brazilian authorities of the Map traveled to the Asian country, where they participated in the "Seminar Brazil Agritalks Singapore". The event was promoted by the Brazilian Agency for The Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a statement, the Map noted that Singapore is a major importer of food and a strategic commercial hub in Asia, as reported by Estadão Conteúdo. General Coordinator of Innovation of the Map, Daniel Trent highlighted positive points of the event.
"I had the opportunity to make many contacts, good discussions and perspectives of strategic partnerships for Brazil on this theme. Besides being an important destination for our agricultural production, because Brazil exports, among other things, almost 50% of the meat consumed there, Singapore is a hub not only logistic, but of knowledge and much of the innovations in digital technology", explained Trento.
Brazil and Singapore: partnership in meat consumption
According to data from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), in 2021, Brazil exported US$ 426 million in meat products, with the country accounting for 58% of beef, 48% of chicken meat and 39% of pork consumed in the small Asian country.
