After the purple tomatoes discovered by scientists, now it's the turn of the purple tomato grown in a greenhouse. The variety launched in Orlando two weeks ago goes by the name of Yoom. Nature Fresh Farms is responsible for launching the product.  

Purple tomatoes have a touch of plum sweetness and can enhance any meal, says Nature's vice president of sales and marketing Malt Quiring. The variety grown in Mexico is now available in North America. The greenhouse tomato has small size, crispier texture and more rounded shape. 

According to the manufacturer, Yoom has high levels of antioxidants, anthocyanin and lycopene (indicative in its distinct deep purple tone), vitamins A and C, as well as magnesium and potassium. Also according to the company, its color and unexpected appearance gives an air of modern elegance to the fruit that aims to please the most diverse palates. Would you like to try the new variety?
