India raises ethanol purchase prices for state-owned fuel retailers
quinta-feira, novembro 03, 2022
The Indian government has set a price of up to 65.61 rupees for the purchase of ethanol from sugar mills, as the country wants to increase the mixture with gasoline. The information was given by Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri yesterday, 02.
India, the world's third-largest importer and oil consumer, has accelerated efforts to double the ethanol-gasoline blend to 20% from the current more than 10% nationwide from 2025/26.
Puri said fuel mixed with 20% ethanol will be sold in parts of the country from April next year and said Prime Minister Modi has promised him the zero carbon liquid solution by 2070 and is encouraging him to change the cleaner options for carbon packaging.
The government sets ethanol prices for raw material representatives like Indian Oil Corp, Bharat Petroleum Corp and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. each trading year starting in December, reflecting a change in the minimum price of sugar.
