Astronauts harvest tomatoes in space

Did you know that tomatoes can be grown in "space"? Astronauts from the U.S. Space Agency's (NASA) International Space Station are responsible for the cultivation.
The crew of Expedition 68, prepares for a cargo mission of the United States, between one service and another, the astronauts harvested on Monday (31), tomatoes from their space garden. The space freighter is responsible for transporting research equipment, tribulation supplies among other objects.
In relation to tomatoes, the harvest was carried out aboard the orbiting laboratory, by astronaut Koichi Wakata, in charge of harvesting a small crop of tomatoes grown by the astronauts. The tomato was grown without soil, using the hydroponic and aeroponic nutrition technique according to information published on the space station (NASA) blog.
