Argentina makes 1st beef export to Mexico

After more than 10 years of negotiations, the first export of beef from Argentina to Mexico was concluded on Wednesday (22), after agents of the Argentine National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) certified the quality of the goods shipped.
The commercial sample, from the Argentine establishment Arrebeef, consists of 1 ton of different cuts of beef. Another 21 Argentine establishments are also authorized to export to Mexico.
"Today Argentina has the markets of Canada, the United States and now Mexico, a very important bloc for the country and for our industry and a very big challenge for Senasa to continue opening other markets," said Senasa Vice President Rodolfo Acerbi during the final certification of boarding at Ezeiza International Airport. in Argentina.
"We believe that this is the beginning to continue strengthening the bilateral economic relationship so that it reflects the weight of our economies and the exchange of products that will lead us to be closer to each other," added Gabriel Terrés, head of Foreign Affairs at the Mexican Embassy in Argentina.
Mexico opened its market for Argentine beef on November 11 last year.
Negotiations had begun in 2012.
