The Ministry of Agriculture of France recorded 238 outbreaks of high pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in farms in the country until last Tuesday (27). Counting began on August 1 of this year.

According to a statement published on the official website of the French ministry, more than half of the breeding foci in the country are in the Pays de la Loire region. This area has become considered a risk zone for dissemination with high density of birds.

Fear of the risk of avian influenza contamination

Faced with the increased risk of contamination due to the drop in temperatures and the high migratory activity of wild birds, the French government increased, on November 11, the risk of contamination throughout the metropolitan territory of the country from "moderate" to "high".

According to the recent statement, the health situation caused by the advance of avian influenza remains worrying and has become "even more dramatic" in recent weeks.
