Brazil remains the main supplier of soybeans to Europe this year

Soybean imports by the European Union in the 2022/23 season, which began on July 1, reached 3.12 million tons by October 9, according to data published by the European Commission on Tuesday, with Brazil being the main supplier by 51.7% of the total purchased.
At the same time last season, the imported volume stood at 3.38 million tons, according to the data.
Soybean meal imports in the same period of 2022/23 totaled 4.21 million tons, compared to 4.61 million tons in the previous season, also with Brazil as the main origin of the product.
Palm oil imports stood at 923,130 tonnes against 1.67 million tonnes in 2021/22.
The EU's foreign purchases of sunflower oil, mostly from Ukraine, were 448,677 tonnes, up from 390,193 tons a year earlier, the data showed.
