Farmers and local producers in the city of Mangochar in Pakistan blocked the Quetta-Karachi national highway because of the blockade traffic was suspended. The reason for the stoppage was because the protesters shouted that they would not allow the import of tomatoes from Iran. Tomato boxes were thrown onto the roads.

Who coordinated the destruction of tomatoes was the Association Balochistan Zamindars, for the association local producers will face significant financial losses because of the import of tomatoes and other vegetables from Iran and Afghanistan. The local crop is already ready to reach the market, but the producers claim that it would not reach the right price. 

The protesters are calling on the government to stop imports as trucks loaded with tomatoes and onions arrive in Pakistan. Because of this, high vegetable prices in local markets had to be lowered. Iran is currently among the world's top ten tomato producers.
