Thailand's 2022/23 corn crop is expected to have a production of 5.2 million tons, below the 5.3 million tons recorded in the 2021/22 crop. The information is based on a bulletin conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture attaché (USDA) and released by the Crop Agency.

To reach this volume, the area to be harvested in Thailand should be 1.2 million hectares in 2022/23, similar to that cultivated in the 2021/22 crop. The final passage stocks were projected at 1.319 million tons in the 2022/23 harvest, the same level recorded in the 2021/22 harvest.

The total expected consumption for the 2022/23 harvest in Thailand is 6.7 million tons, up from 6.6 million tons recorded in the 2021/22 crop.

Imports are expected to be 1.6 million tonnes in 2022/23, up from 1.519 million tonnes recorded in the 2021/22 season.
