Drought in China, USA and Europe is opportunity for Brazilian beans

"We will all suffer the consequences of drought in China, Europe and the United States. Yes, in China the drought means the lack of electricity and consequently supplies to move industries from various sectors." The statement is by Marcelo Lüders, president of Ibrafe (Brazilian Institute of Beans and Pulses).
On the other hand, the leader says, the effects of the La Niña climate phenomenon will open up a "huge export opportunity. We urgently need to be clear about the scenario of supplying Beans in Brazil. But it is important to understand the impact of La Niña on the production of drought-affected regions."
"We are focused on what happens now in the commercialization of beans harvested during the month of August in Brazil. Apparently, the volume to be harvested during the month of September will be 130,000 tons and will not be compared with what was harvested in August, something around 300,000 tons", explains Lüders.
PRICES
Also according to the commander of Ibrafe, consumption should exceed 170,000 tons in Feijão-carioca. "Small fluctuations will happen in september, but the possibility of sharp falls in sources is falling behind. Last Friday, values above those practiced during the week were reported, in Minas Gerais R$ 315 and In Goiás R$ 295, per sack of 60 kilos", he points out.
According to Marcelo Lüders, the survey for the area of the 1st Paraná Crop 2023 gives basis for valorization. "What we have noticed is that producers are increasingly aware that the reference of Brás no longer influences, whether it rises or low in São Paulo, for feijão in the sources only what determines the price is availability in the field", concludes.
