The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI) participated on Friday (24), in Berlin (Germany), the International Aviation Exhibition (ILA) 2022.The event, held june 22-26, brought together representatives from government, industry, space agencies and researchers to share key innovations and technologies in the aerospace industry at one of the world's largest trade fairs in the area.
The MCTI, in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Space Agency (DLR), organized within the event the seminar "Creating an international market for sustainable aviation fuels", with Brazilian and German participants.
During the panel "Sustainable aviation fuels in Brazil – a multisectoral dialogue", the Director of Applied Technologies of MCTI presented the main Brazilian initiatives of the government and research institutions for the promotion of sustainable fuels. The actions are aligned with the Fuel of the Future project, aimed at encouraging sustainable products in the national energy matrix.
One of them, the Alternative Fuels without Climate Impacts (ProQR) project is partnered with the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), with the aim of disseminating sustainable fuel with lower CO2 emissions in the Brazilian air sector.
Another recent action was the launch on June 15 of the public call of FINEP, mcti's public company, to support new sustainable fuel projects worth R$ 50 million. The ministry also presented at the event the guidelines of the National Hydrogen Program, which is in the process of being built and will direct resources from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT) in other notices to encourage clean energy sources.
The ministry also visited ila stands of international companies to learn about initiatives aligned with this goal around the world. Participation in the event is part of a Brazilian mission in the country started on June 19 to promote sustainable fuels in Brazil.
The agenda also included a visit to atmosfair's synthetic aviation fuel production plant in Werlte on Monday (20). The goal is to use water, CO2 and renewable energy as a raw material for sustainable aeronautical fuels for aviation.
The Brazilian mission also had the participation of representatives of the Ministry of the Environment (MME), Ministry of Infrastructure, National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) and National Agency of Oil and Gas (ANP), the Energy Research Company (EPE), the MME and universities.
