Biofuels and the future of mobility will be one of the themes highlighted in the 5th edition of the Global Agribusiness Forum (GAF) 2022, which will be held on July 25 and 26, in São Paulo.
The event will be promoted jointly by the Brazilian Rural Society - SRB, Association of Corn Producers of Brazil - ABRAMILHO, International Corn Alliance - MAIZALL, Zebu Cattle Breeders Association - ABCZ, Brazilian Association of Producers Exporting Fruits and Derivatives - ABRAFRUTAS, the National Sugar And Corn Union - UNEM, Brazilian Association of Animal Protein - ABPA and DATAGRO.
Held every two years, the 2022 edition of GAF, which integrates agribusiness efforts to overcome the challenge of feeding the global population in the coming decades, will have as its theme "Food Security, Climate Change and Sustainability".
On Wednesday the 12th, the organizers held a press conference to present the schedule and the panels that will be part of the meeting.
President DATAGRO, Pliny Nastari, highlighted that this is an international event, with more than 3,000 guests, with speakers from various countries, with a history of relevant discussions in the international context. "We have witnessed an information war that needs to be demystified. It affects not only Brazil, but the whole world. As we must build a multilateral relationship on a sustainable basis, that is our goal," he said.
According to Nastari, the event will be attended by representatives of the WTO, the European Commission, and more than 30 countries, which will allow the discussion of all issues involving agribusiness. It will be two days with several simultaneous presentations.
"In relation to Brazil, what distinguishes us is the integration of production chains, corn and soybeans, with bioenergy, cattle ranching, biogas, biomethane, all occurring in a virtuous and sustainable way, adding value and generating jobs. Brazil is expected to account for at least 40% of the world's food consumption by 2050," Nastari said.
During the press conference, UNEM Executive President Guilherme Nolasco recalled that corn ethanol already accounts for 15% of national ethanol production, "which is the best mobility option for the country and also for other markets. Brazil is unique with the capacity to produce food and biofuels, in the same crop, through crop rotation, without the need to advance on new cultivation areas", he argued.
Sérgio Bortolozzo, president of the GAF Council, drew attention to the work of the press in dissepressing the results of the meeting. "The importance of press participation to disseminate the information will be decisive for the dissemination of the results of this meeting," he said.
