sexta-feira, agosto 19, 2022
Most often plants are grown in pots, flower beds, bottle, greenhouse, etc. at least, that's the traditional way of planting around here. Have you ever wondered if plants were grown in space? That's right, the first commercial greenhouse in space will be created. The "plantation" will be done aboard the International Space Station (ISS) by the company RedWire and the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space.
It is estimated that in the first half of 2023, space cultivation is already in full swing. The greenhouse deployed in a microgravity environment is in the testing phase. According to Redwire Corporation RDW the greenhouse will boost agricultural production research, in a not very conventional space environment.
There the plant growth system is all automated. The project will provide knowledge for Artemis' missions of the National Aeronautics and Spaces Administration of the United States (NASA). The agricultural company Dewey Scientific, a cannabis producer, will be the first customer to purchase the unconventional plants.
