The Ministry of Agriculture says that shipments of beef from the Redemptor Slaughterhouse unit in Guarantã do Norte (MT) to China are suspended.

Earlier, the company had informed that the folder would have been able to reverse the suspension.

In a statement, the Ministry clarifies that the suspension is maintained by "imposition of the Chinese sanitary authority".

Thus, adds the Ministry, the General Administration of Customs of the country (Gaac) will also carry out an evaluation of the action plan so that the suspension is or not withdrawn.

The folder also said that the establishment corrected "the non-conformities" that led to the suspension of certification imposed by the local Federal Inspection Service (SIF).

Gaac had notified the suspension of shipments of the unit last Tuesday (9), without informing the reasons or when they would resume imports.

So far, the Chinese government has not made further announcements on whether or not imports will resume.

Currently, the unit slaughters 600 cattle per day.
