UN Global Compact Appoints Committee to Deal With Sustainable Agriculture Initiative

The Global Compact of the United Nations (UN) was held on Friday (10), in São Paulo, the Advisory Committee of Between Soils – Sowing Connections, an online platform for dialogue on sustainability in the food and agriculture sector. The objective of the group, formed by specialists from various areas – inside and outside agribusiness – is to support the definition of the contents, sources of information and positions of the initiative.
Sponsored by Amaggi, Bayer, Basf and Mosaic, Entre Solos was developed with the mission of promoting dialogue on sustainability in the sector. The idea is to bring people closer to the realities of the countryside and cities, within the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The main objectives of the initiative are: to promote sustainable practices related to the agricultural production chain and conscious consumption; foster dialogue based on information, experience and facts on sustainable agricultural production; reveal how much science, innovation and collaboration can intensify sustainable production and consumption; engage different audiences on issues related to agricultural challenges, and give voice to people and initiatives that contribute to sustainability in agro.

- Marcello Britto, counselor and former president of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (ABAG);

- Renato Cruz, journalist specializing in technology;
- Antonio Meirelles, coordinator of the Platform for Action for Sustainable Agro-Sustainable of the UN Global Compact;
- Carla Pires, manager of the UN Global Compact Agro Platform;
- Adriana Brondani, Director of Biofocus Hub, and
- Guilherme Bourroul, Head of Content and Public Relations of The DZ7 Agency.
