segunda-feira, abril 18, 2022
The Sugarcane Industry Union (Unica) on Monday announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) during the Brazilian government's mission in India.
The objective of the agreement, according to the entity, is to "build an integrated agenda for reducing emissions in the vehicle transport matrix" in the country.
Unica said in a statement that it has been working with Indians since 2019 and that the results include increasing the ethanol blend in gasoline to 20% by 2025 – the expected mix is expected to reach 10% by the end of this year. In addition, the country will begin in the second half of 2022 to produce cars with flex fuel engines, which allow the use of 100% ethanol.
"More than a strategic partner of Brazil on this agenda, India is in a position to become an important player in Asia on the decarbonization agenda," Unica President Evandro Gussi said in a statement.
The Brazilian mission in India is led by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, and aims to work together between the two countries in the area of biofuels.
In addition to the minister and members of the government, representatives of the sugar and motor workers' sectors are also present. The agenda of appointments runs from tomorrow (19) to Friday (22).
