CBIOS: emission reaches 48.95% of the 2022 annual target; volume is equivalent to more than 17 million tons of CO2eq mitigated

The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) issued a new weekly report on CBIOs -- Decarbonization credits issued and traded in 2022 (see image below). According to the report, the volume of CBIOs already issued in the year reached 17,612,102, which corresponds to 48.95% of the annual target already issued by the plants, which corresponds to a volume of 17.61 million tons of equivalent CO2 mitigated, or 123.28 million trees planted, considering that one ton of carbon is equivalent 7 trees.
Also in the report, we have that in the last week (from March 28 to April 1) the CBIO was traded at R$ 93.68, 5.03% more than in the previous week. The volume traded in the week was 1,967,987 CBIOs, 41.29% more than the previous week. The average monthly price in April is R$ 98.02 per CBIO. In the year, the average value reaches R$ 87.45 per CBIO.
Of the total issued and booked until the last week, we have: 4,448,915 CBIOs held by the issuers; 10.552.318 CBIOs with the obliged party (distributors); and another 127,173 CBIOs with the unobliged part. 2,483,696 CBIOs have already been retired.
