terça-feira, março 08, 2022
The harvest of the 2021/22 soybean crop reached on Thursday (03) 55% of the cultivated area in Brazil, against 44% in the previous week and 35% a year ago, according to a survey by AgRural, which also made a further reduction in its production estimate.
Calculated at 128.5 million tons at the turn of January to February, production is now estimated at 122.8 million tons.
The fall in relation to potential production is almost 23 million tons and was caused by drought in the south of the country and in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul.
In this last review, there was also a small cut in productivity in Mato Grosso and Minas Gerais due to excess rainfall in February.
The production estimate of 122.8 million tons is based on an area of 40.6 million hectares and an average productivity of 50.4 bags per hectare, the lowest since the 2015/16 harvest.
Corn
The planting of corn safrinha 2022 reached on Thursday (03) 81% of the estimated area for south-central Brazil, compared to 64% in the previous week and 54% a year ago.
The weather conditions so far are generally favorable, and areas that were dry and with difficulty advancing in sowing received very welcome rains last week.
The summer 2021/22 corn harvest eventually reached 45% of the South-Central area, up from 35% a year ago.
The total corn production of Brazil in the current season is estimated by AgRural at 110.9 million tons and will be revised in this first half of March.
